    pastel?

    if my red tail boa has a high pink coloration up the sides and all over in the light could it be a pastel?
    1.0 bearded dragon (mr.lizard)
    1.0 red tail boa(chaunchy)
    0.1 burmese python(stella)

    It's impossible to tell for sure with that picture, but I suppose it's possible.

    Not the best picture but does not look pastel to me.

    Pastel is a poly-genetic trait. It is a bit of subjective and I believe there are degrees of pastel. Pastels have reduced black pigment with a general washed out side markings. Usually a reduced amount of speckles as well. Color has nothing to do with it, but it does allow the color to be seen better. I have seen some fairly low color pastels and seen high color none pastels.


    Could you get a full body shot, or at leat a good section as well as the lateral.
    That pic is just to poor quality and such a small section I could give good guess.

    Here is a pic fairly colorful boa, but he is not a pastel.
