I feed inside the cage as well. I have a couple that want to pop out during feeding time but can you blame them, they smell food.I also have one BP that will not eat unless I leave it in her tub and don't bother her. She's usually the last one I feed and I leave the room after.
As LGray23 said, it really depends on the snake. Some just won't eat outside of their cages.
