I can see them eating a very sm adult rat when they are 300+.
The problem is everyones opinion what a sm or md rat is differs. I just eye ball their size when I pick them out.
One time I picked out a "sm" rat for my then 400 gram hog island and the rat was more like a mdand was concerned watching but he handled it with a large lump that was there for a few days
