On top of that, since it comes up a lot. BPs can/will stop eating for months. No amount of reading can prepare you for when it happens. It's annoying and frustrating at first, but it's something you really need to consider before you bring home a BP. If you decide to feed live, you will need to have a plan to handle refused live food and if you feed f/t you should be prepared for the fact that sometimes you will "waste" money when you need to throw out refused food.

I'm not saying BPs don't make great pets, because they do and I love mine, but problem feeders are frustrating.

Also, shedding is an issue the first few times. As a new BP owner myself (only had my baby about a month now), it freaked me out, but this forum helped a lot and now she's doing grand. Asking specific questions is always way better than asking about general care on the forum, and (at least on this forum) you'll usually get a response in 15 minutes.
