    Quick Question

If I understand what I have read about breeding age/maturity, if I were to get a breeding pair hatched this year, it will be at least 2 years before I could actually attempt breeding right?

I understand that a male can breed at 1 year but it takes 2 years for females.

    Is that correct?

    Thanks.

Two years is usually the minimum. Some females won't breed until their 3rd or 4th year. Usually the older and larger the female, the bigger the clutch.

That's a pretty sound rule of thumb to go by, yes. As with people, some specimens mature faster than others. You may come across a female that's ready to breed at 18 months, and you may have one that takes 30 months to get up to the proper weight.
