    Super moderator, admin etc criteria

    Hi,

Out of pure curiosity, how are people chosen to moderators and admin staff on this site. Whats the criteria that you look for?

You have people from All across America and even dr del in edinburough on the site. Dó you interview for the Jobs?

And lastly dó people work full time for the site and get paid for it?

I really enjoy This site so it would be Nice to know some background info, if its not to personal.

    Thanks

    Matt

From What I think Moderators and Admins are chosen from Active and helpful mature members of the site.. but i doubt is a paid job.. is rather community service and those who do it... do that because they care for reptile community and reptile industry in general...

But how often new people are chosen and is any need for new people right now ?? Have no Idea

From what I've heard the Admin/Moderator staff scan through the active members that have been on the site for at least a year and observe those who they think would be a good potential Mod and when a position opens they offer it to them.

To my knowledge there is not a public application process.

What you can do to help your chance of being selected is to be active on the site, answer questions and give good solid advice (over and over again as many common questions are asked frequently). Be friendly and welcome new members to the site. Also you may want get to know the current Admins & Mods (there is alot of trust involved, they are less likely to offer the job to someone they are not very familiar with).

I don't know for sure if there is any pay or incentives involved. If I had to guess though I wouldn't think so.

For more information I would recommend messaging JLC or another member of the Admin/Moderator staff.

I don't know how people become mods or admins, but I do know that they make any money through this site, and donations only go to the site to make it better and to maintain it. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...-Experience!!! click that for proof that they don't get paid from this site.

Re: Super moderator, admin etc criteria

I can assure you that the admins and mods DO NOT make any money for their services to this community. I myself had inquired about what one needs to do to become a mod. It takes a person being active on the boards, being very helpful and courteous, and you also have to get to know the current mods and admins. It is about a matter of trust.

First of all to be considered for a staff position. A person must be a Bp veteran and have been here for a year or more. That's just that required stuff other things are being active and helpful with other members. As for is it a paid job? no member of the staff takes any monies for their place. It's by request and purely voluntary.
