    It is a nice treat to see them!!! They've caused some problems for rural Natal communities, about 6 years ago now, a 5 year old girl got eaten by one, while picking mangoes with her brother!! Bare in mind that this was deep in the midlands!

    The sad thing about them living so close to the built up areas is that they sometimes lie on the dirt roads at night to warm up, and people taking a short cut through the sugar cane or bush drive over them...Luckily they're totally protected here, so killing one on purpose is a massive fine, jail, or both!

    Sorry if I'm hijacking, I thought this might add some value for people who don't know all that much about them.

    When summer comes around again I'll try find one and get a pic or two, but I'll be honest, the wild ones scare me a little, lol!!! They don't play games, if you get too close the make a huge noise, sometimes it actually sounds like growling!!!

    And the wild ones WILL bite if you harass them!!! I've seen two wild ones in my whole life, but I can post pics of plenty puff adders, house snakes, heralds and the like when summer arrives in September!!!
