100% het lavender x 100% het lavender albino.. no luck as of yet.

As my breeding season has started, im facing some minor bumps in the road.

I got all exited that my female het lavender topped the magical 1500 grams mark.
Over the passt couple of weeks I introduced my het lavender albino male to her and he is NOT interested at all.

He flips the drinking bowl and hides under it. He races through her tub like he's winning the grand prix. He's an 09 and well over 850 grams. Produces pluggs.

Today I introduced my black pastel pewter male to her and he locked her within 20 minutes, being the stud that he is. Now having pewters 50% poss het lav is a nice thought, but I'd rather have a shot at lavender albino's this season!

Any advice? I tried the spermplug on the back, the feeding and then introducing and the shed trick. no luck so far.

    Greets,

    Yaron

Use the Pewter till she starts producing follicals then reintroduce the Het..It worked for me a few times last year.

Yes! I'm going through exactly this with my het lav x het lav pairing right now. (Except for the hiding under the water bowl.)

I've tried pairing them twice--first time they avoided each other, second time he followed her around for a few days, but she kept wanting to climb or explore or nap or do anything but mate. I found them curled up together several times, but I think he basically gave up.

But! After the first pairing he went into shed, and after the 2nd, I took her out and discovered she's gone into shed. So I'm separating them for a couple weeks, and we'll see how they do after the break.

one of my male pied did that... no interest at all .. i took him out... then introduce him again... another 3 days... same thing happened ... took him out again... since the female was a het pied , i have no choice but to keep trying

a week after that put him again ... and next morning i checked ... they were locked...

i think all of them act differently.. but eventually get there.. keep trying, don give up hope

Re: 100% het lavender x 100% het lavender albino... (update!)

So, in the end the male 100% het lavender did manage to get his thing going.

She produced 6 eggs for me this season.

    I got:

    0.0.2 Wildtype poss. het lavender
0.0.2 Jungle Pastel poss. het lavender
    0.0.2 Lavender albino's!

Better pics when they crawl out of their eggs. I don't have any nails left to chew off :p
