    Fishing trip to Catalina Island

Besides being an avid herper im also a die hard fisherman, and decided to share my fishing trip w you all.ill keep it brief.

headed out of long beach at around 10pm and got to the island at around 2 set up and put the light out to catch squid for bait for those whom dont know squid are attracted to the light and float to the surface.the day started out pretty slow pick a few white seabass here and a few there. Then i Hooked into some large after a few runs and 30 minutes up comes a black seabass thats the phot of the dark fish still in water as it is illegal to take them out out the water since the are a protected species.at around 230pm i got bit again and knew it was what i was after a white seabass and a big one enjoy the pics of scenery and fish
and the pic of the 2 white things are the stones that white seabass have in their heads that allow them to make the croaking noise the make when rubbed together

Excellent catch, nothing better than sticking a big fish and holding on for a great fight

I wish I could get out to the coasts more, but I certainly do just LOVE the fishing experience we get here in the midwest. I don't know how easily I'd trade the tranquility of a canoe out on a lake surrounded by pine forest for the beasts of the oceans.

Very cool! I've been wanting to get out there to go fishing soon. Last time we went out all there was was Barracuda.

    Maybe a trip soon...
