    Re: Show us your set-ups

all these pretty setups make me want to go out and buy a GTP or JCP and make a BA display cage for them (sorry i just dont like the idea of displaying a ball python that never leaves it hide) GTPs and JCPs at least sit out in the open... most of the time. all together love the set ups especially SanCera's that looks like a shed to me with all the insulation u got in there i would love to do that someday i would need to do a real good job of insulating a shed if i got one here in AZ

Firstly I apologize for the bad picture quality, I'd use my camera when I'm not rushing and my family is done with it, for now I have my phone and a few minutes. So basically I built my 2 display tanks into a cabinet. This is the entire cabinet.

Each enclosure has 2 hides one on each side, and a water bowl and other things to fill it up a little. Fake plants fake wood. Substrate's aspen. Its glass on all sides, the back and sides have glass over the wood cabinet (just to keep the wood in good condition). Bottom is glass sitting on a wooden rim so a UTH is still possible.

Its good to have a cabinet like that to hide all the mess of spare stuff and whatever. Including CHE's which are on thermostats just in case ambient temps drop below 80F.
    dude that is smoooothh

    Repurposed

OK, so here's what I have been using for about two weeks now and it works great so far. So I didn't want to waste the money I spent on the tank to jsut turn around and get rid of it. Instead, we took the steps to make the glass tank work. So here's my setup:

Here's the deal... we orginally had the snakes in my daughter's room on top of her dresser. Then we were going out one day and someone down the street was throwing away a perfectly good baby changing table. So my wife said, "Hey, that would make a great self for the snakes!" So we picked it up, took it home, and painted it black letting it dry for a week. Then I reinforced the top shelf (the that holds the glass tank) and the second shelf so they can support the weight and not fall through. As far as the glass tank, I use the eco carpet (or whatever it's called) and covered the three sides with tinfoil which reflects the heat right back into the tank. The is also a UTH attached to the tank that is regulated with a digital thermastat from Hydrofarm. I also did the screentop treatment, but I did it to a piece of cardboard and that is what's on top of the tank. Temps and humidity are great but I got the humidity up because he is geting ready to shed. Right below the top shelf is a drawer that I keep all supplies like feeding tongs, cage cleaner, papertowels, ledger, etc. On the left side you can see where I attached both digital thermostats. On the next shelf down, I attached a UTH to the shelf itself. I actually put a doubled piece of tinfoil under the UTH and then taped the UTH to the shelf with the digital thermostat probe taped to the UTH. The very bottom shelf is for all of my extra stuff. I keep my replacement newspaper, the heat lamps that came with the tank and whatever else will fit neatly. The room itself stays at around 80 degrees. The setup is working really well so far and even looks nice in the room.

EDIT: I almost forgot the mention that that is a flashlight attached to the fron the setup.

    Here's mine. c:
