20 snakes -
14 balls, baby dumerils, adult dumerils, BRB, yearling burm, and two 7 foot burms.
2.6 rats, each female consistently puts out 12-16 babies, I spend about $20 a month on food, about $10 a month on bedding. We're lucky to get huge jumbo rats from a friend who has a big rat barn, but only keeps balls. So when his breeder males are retired, he doesn't have any snakes large enough to eat them, and we get them for the burms =)
I live in an apartment, but my deck is just large enough to house all the rats on. Once it gets colder again, I plan on moving them into the outside storage closet with some heat, so I don't have to deal with the smell inside.

I was breeding rats for about a year, but the wife hated the smell. I'm hoping to get a heated shed in the backyard and start breeding again soon. I spend about $120 a month on rats and mice, but I feed live to everyone. I have 16 balls of various sizes.

Re: Rodent bill
I just put my first order in through Rodentpro.com and besides the shipping being high it seemed to still be a good deal. Anyone else order from there before? JH

It was only within the past few weeks that I have been able to almost exclusively feed off my own supply of ASFs to ~50 balls and 1 GTP. It costs about $150 a month for bedding and mazuri 6F. Before, I was spending anywhere between $600-$900 a month buying rats from a local pet store. That was painful.

I posted earlier, but am now scaling back on the asf's and raising rats, I think I spend about $25-30 a month on food and bedding for rodents.

I bought $120 of F/T rats from rodent pro. Enough food for 12 months for my 1 snake at the time. Picked up another snake then decided to start breeding fancy rats. I spend about $15 a month for food and bedding for my 1.4 rats.

At one point I had 20+ snakes, and fed my snakes for free every week. It would cost me about $40 a month for food/bedding. I only have 3 rat racks, and push out anywhere from 100-300 pinks per month. My rats are extremely happy, and every week I find at least 2-3 pregnant mama's. I found 5 pregnant mama's 3 days ago. I only have 10 BP's, so I'm having to take the excess over to a pet store, or humanely euthanize via CO2.

I've got 4 of them. 3 are big eaters and as a group they go through most of a bag of f/t small rats in a month. The picky one only eats one live rat pup every 10 days or so. It costs me just under 30 bucks a month to feed them.

I recently bought from rodent pro and was very happy all animals clean smelled good when thawed and my good eaters ate them. If you order a lot its worth the shipping cost. But still steep. I have two on live at the moment which is difficult. I would like to have closer. I was thinking of putting in an order for the next reptile expo in New England to get more feeders.
I would rather work local. I cannot breed my own at the moment and the smell is awful. I live in Bangor, Maine and would be willing to drive if anyone is near by with feeders to sell. I have 7 pythons at the moment and 3 on the way next month. Most are are on small rats for now and I have two on live trying to switch them. One on rat fuzzies and one on weaned rats. The next 3 will all be hatchling size. Anyways thanks good thread.
