Re: Spider clutch out... TINY babies!!

Thanks everyone! They are extremely small. I think the smallest ball I hatched last season was 56 grams and every single baby from this clutch is way smaller than that! I'm not sure why though...

The far right spider is absolutely staying here but I'm definitely going to be seeing which of the other two eats better, or if I get some more cool looking female spiders in the next clutch.

I was actually pretty surprised with how reduced these spiders turned out, I had though they'd have a lot more spots on them. I'm glad they don't, but the sire is actually a pretty busy patterned male so I was expecting more of that to show up!

    Here's dad

That is weird! They are tiny little things! Do you know what the eggs weighed in the beginning?

Re: Spider clutch out... TINY babies!!

Started out with 6 eggs weighing 630 grams. Trust me, I'm just as confused as you. Nothing major happened during incubation, eggs started pipping at day 54 at 88.9 degrees.... just ended up with tiny babies

was it a new female you had laying, or was it her first season? Just curious if that had anything to do with it. How big was she?
