had a breakout - what happened
I had a breakout of my new homebuilt rack system. course i'm out of town and get a call from my daughter....there is a snake out...luckily she got him right back in.
I don't know if I just didn't close the rack the whole way...or there just isn't enough friction. Now it'd kinda got me nervous....
Can a snake leverage and slide out a loose tub just for the top or did I fail to close it the whole way?

Yes they absolutely can get leverage to slide out a tub. I have a big male that I moved to an enclosure as he had slid out a tub from my rack. He then managed to slide the glass doors too so he has a lock on the doors now.

I drill holes infront of the bins in the racks Ive built and get the white pins from Rich @ reptilebasics that he uses with the rbi racks. They prevent the tubs from being opened

Re: had a breakout - what happened
I have been housing snakes (balls, carpets, and boas) in racks for around six years, and have never had one of them slide their tubs out. The tubs in my racks are pretty snug, though. I have had one escape from a rack though. Someone did not close the tub all the way in a baby rack, and it got out a few minutes later. Luckily, I was in the other room, and heard it in the act.
