can anyone id this species?

the tail isnt in the pic but the tail is about as long as their bodies or longer.
i find them all over around my house, backyard, frontyard sometimes i find em inside near the doggie door.i wouldnt keep them as pets or anything, just wondering what they are. cool lizards, ill catch em sometimes and pet them and talk to em,they dont try to runaway when handling, just look at me like a beardie would when you talk and pet em.

One of the cnemidophorus clan. Don't know which one in particular, but they're pretty common out your way.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

no im totally serious.i have a stegosaurus in a tank..i was joking but for pondering purposes.
some scientists believe they were cold blooded and many scientists disagree. do you know how big insects were back then when the air was purer? freaking huge.so its not as stupid as it sounds.so if there were gigantic bugs there would have to be gigantic dinosaurish snakeses?no?hmmm.goooogle.

no one yet, has been able to say for sure why animals were so large in previous time. yes the pure air theory is one of them. another is you have to be big to eat big animals and big plants and by eating big animals and big plants that, in turn, makes you big. there are a couple of more.....read into them. they all make valid points but all have problems with them.
there was a recent finding of a giant prehistoric snake. i can't remember how long it was but it was crazy long.

i totally forgot i was in the lizard section when i mentioned the snake, but yeah i read an article last night of that prehistoric snake. lizards look like little dinosaurs attacking crickets, hilarious.Godziiiillllaaaa!!!
but yeah i agree all the valid points have holes in them.
