    Talking Burgundy Project

So I know this is going to be a long process as Burgundy's are recessive but I thought it would be fun to keep a journal going on my projects.

    I currently have 0.2 Het Burgundy's.

    This season I bred:
Het Burgundy X Reduced Pattern Spider
    Het Burgundy X Pinstripe

With any luck Ill have Pinstripes PH Burgundy and Spiders PH Burgundy.

My Het Burgundy X Reduced Pattern Spider laid 8 eggs. 4 were slugs and when lit only 2 were fertile. 4 are currently incubating. (not off to a good start)

Het Burgundy X Pinstripe has yet to lay. Both females were around 3500g before breeding season. I will post pictures when I can.

That sounds like it will be some awesome snakes! I'm just getting into balls and I'm very interested in the genetics! =)

What does the burgundy look like? I have a normal/dinker that I was told looks like a burgundy...but I had no idea what that was, any insight?

This is a picture of one of Ralph Davis's Burgundys. Notice the high blushing with a almost red tint to them. [IMG][/IMG]

Yeah I think she may have one bad tube. Would explain why 4 out of 8 were bad right from the get go. Im gonna breed her again next year and if she does the same thing then I guess ill have my answer. Lol was all excited she laid 8 then was like ohhh... This year I bred small, Ive been stocking up so next year I can go big haha.

    Re: Burgundy Project

Good luck with the eggs, you don't see many burgundy projects around, I'm always looking up stuff on burgundies cause it seems like they've disappeared from the morph table since they aren't a standout morph. I'm trying to simply get my own off the ground but my girl simply hasn't been entirely cooperative.
This is really the only good comparison pic I have of her. I got her in 2009 as an adult captive hatched so shes really unproven , she locked up like crazy last year and I even felt a good 7 follicles but she decided not to go and reabsorbed, way for getting my hopes up; and on top of that she went on a bit of a food strike for at least 5 months

I think shes starting to get her act together this year, as recently shes started pounding rats again, and shes locked up only twice I've seen, but no follicles yet that I can tell. I want to be able to at least look forward to some hets from her,she needs to quit holdin' out on me.

I love those silver flames of hers, really makes me think burgundy has some kind of axanthicism going on moreso that hypo.

Im excited to see what will happen also. right now im working on the spider burgundy and a pinstripe burgundy. I may expand that next season as well.. Bot sure whats gonna happen yet, just one project im dinkering with along with my harlequin project.
