Hello,
I am new to this forum and just had a couple of questions about my California kingsnake, which I have had for some time now. For background info, I keep him in a 40 gallon breeder with a ceramic heat lamp at one end with a dimmer. The temps stay around high 80's for warm side to 70's on the cool side. I have 2 hides and have him on aspen bedding. Anyways, I have noticed that there seems to be a bit of black around some of his white scales (only on his back, not his belly), I feared that this was an external parasite of sorts so I brought him to my exotic animals vet he said that it wasn't anything to worry about but gave me an an anti bacterial (not sure which exactly, said chlorhexidine flush on the bottle) I applied it on the affected areas regularly and it didn't seem to have an affect. The vet did say not to be concerned by it, but I just want to be sure by posting some pictures to see what you guys think, also I have a picture of what looks like a small scratch (could be from rock I had in there to help him shed) and I just wanted to see if it was anything more than that as well. Sorry for the stupid long post, I just wanted to cover the all bases. I would appreciate any and all input
