    Yes your black and tan is a rex.
    It's a really poor tan as far as colours go, but it's a tan none-the-less.
    Colour ain't got nothin to do with how well they'll do as feeder breeders, but do watch out for those brindles, they can get extremely obese (it's genetically linked to brindle and red colours) and if you breed them it can kill them. So if they get really fat, it's better to feed them off, rather than keep breeding them and risk killing them in labor.
