Yeah. I've seen baby balls and baby boas housed together in a "reptile store" in my area. When I mentioned that it wasn't a good idea to house them together, the guy said that they've never had any probems.

    Of course not.

I like the place I went today to buy rats for my non-f/t snakes. The snakes in that shop are housed individually, and the hides are turned so that the hole faces the side, not the front.

Re: Found guy @ not so good petstore

Wow, that's just horrible. Those boas might eat the ball python, I've heard about it happening, not sure how common it is, but it's not common to house boas with balls. I have a really nice petstore where I live, it's called Seattle Reptile and Fish, although they do house ball pythons together, they're usually all around the same size and they take good care of their other animals too. Especially the frogs, turtles, and lizards. They have really nice enclosures and get fed well.

Its actually toxic to the boa even if u handle the ball then handle the boa.. or vice versa.. I went on a tour of the nerds facility in plaistow. He's houses thousands beyond thousands of balls retics boas and some venemoids including a green anaconda.. if I saw that id probly flip out at the guy.. regardless of wat he says..

Pet stores are ridiculous. I saw one in a mall recently (that right there shows you the quality of the animals. It's in a MALL.) with a baby BCI. He had a hide and all, but he was sitting out against the glass, not moving at all, and INFESTED with mites. I said something to the lady at the counter, and she said "Yeah, I know. I'm treating him." bullhooey. It shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Poor thing's probably dead now :/

EDIT: Also, this new cursing censor thing is pretty annoying.

It's not new - it has been an integral part of the site since at least 2006 when I joined - you've just developed a potty mouth.

Learn not to do that please.

That's not cool n all but honestly what can you do about it. It doesn't matter how many of us rip a pet store owners bumm ( lol there ya go Dr. Del how's that) it won't help. Maybe, just maybe that one store will change but there are millions of others that are just as bad or worse. Like stated above just walk away. Because if you buy it they will just have another one in it's place tomorrow.
I think there should be a section for this type of thread. The " Omg I can't believe this pet store " forum lol. I know all you guys mean well by your rants and some times it does help but most of the time it doesn't. You just have to kinda ( I know you never really do ) get use to it . All of us that have kept reptiles for years knows what I'm talking about ( at least I think ). It sucks but there really isn't anything we can do.
Hope things can be changed and hope the snakes get housed better. Sucks that this happens
