Quick question
My BP is on its third day of adjustment to its new home. Last night before work I noticed that the hot side temp was lower then it had been the passed few days. I think when my BP was out and about the other night he may have moved the probe some.
Should I leave it be since I haven't changed anything with the thermostat? Or would it be ok to carefully try and work in the tank? Don't want to stress it out to much being I've only had it 3 days now.
Not sure how much more he has destroyed his tank tonight but will see in a hour or so when I get off work

It should be okay to fix it. I know it's not necessary, but I am in love with my temp gun. For $35 or less you can't really go wrong, all you'd have to do it open the tank and point the temp gun and know what the temps are, without wondering if your probe moved...which is probably did lol.. Here's the site I bought mine from if your interested, I have seen them on ebay cheaper. It's the PE-2.

Re: Quick question
Hi,
That's the main reason we tell people the thermostat probe is best placed directly on the heat source outside the tank if it is possible ( it depends on your setup ).
That way it can't get moved or pooed on or otherwise affected by the snake.

I think he's talking about his digital thermometer probe....

Re: Quick question
Heh,
Sorry for not reading it correctly - I am currently pre-coffee.
If it is just a thermometer probe I would stick it down with a couple of drops from a glue gun.
Sets in seconds, is completely safe for the animal once it has, and can be easily removed if you need to.

lol np. Yeah I was thinking of doing that, wish I had done that in the first place so I don't have to disturb him during this first week.
