Re: Unprinted Newspaper the easy way

    Its actually not the same.

If you look closely at it the unprinted stuff is a bit more "shiny" is the best way I can put it.

Its "pores" arent as open as newspaper is and to me wasnt as absorbent.

Yes, I absolutely LOVE newspaper. But am fed up trying to keep humidity up with it and have switched to Aspen

I just bought some of the unprinted newsapaper for my snake's tub and I love it! Apparently he likes it too because he is hiding under it.

Yep that is where we got ours. My mom actually picked up what I consider a huge roll a couple of years ago for the kids to draw on. When we started keeping balls we just started using it. The roll is still huge! But when it runs out I will be headed right back to the local newspaper.

Also just a tip for cutting it easily. I cut what I need by using the Fiskars paper trimmer refill blade and just running it down the side of the roll, using a sewing measuring tape I measure from that cut and then make another cut down the side of the roll. It cuts a whole stack of paper quickly. Then I just keep them in an empty bin. You will also end up with a small size stack of paper than I cut down for my 15 qt tubs. Easy and free.

Re: Unprinted Newspaper the easy way

Yep, the local newspaper always has the ends of their newspaper rolls. They also have a couple different sizes, so I have rolls for my big tubs and size for my juvi/hatchling tubs. I only pay like 5 bucks for a few rolls, and that is just to give the guy something for pulling them off to the side for me. . . this is the only way to go.
