An update on little Thor (X. Immanis)

I had to change his water, so I decided to take a couple pics
They aren't the best, but meh...

His head markings are starting to show a little (though it's kind of hard to see in the pic)


And I know it's hard to tell without a molt, I'm still waiting for him to molt for me, but I think at this point he's looking pretty boy-ish. Input would be nice

He's also a super pig, I love it! I can't wait til he's big enough to become the garbage disposal spider haha.

He is looking good and has a super cool name!!! I would see a good clear pic of the underneath of him/her to give you my opinion on it's gender if I could tell at that size.

I've been trying and trying to get a good shot of his underside, but they just don't come out nice. If it's any help, he/she doesn't seem to have a very distinct little "pot-belly" like many female Ts do, but I haven't seen an epiandrous (spelling?) bullseye on him/her either... :S he/she's been in pre-molt for a while though, so I guess I'll just have to wait until he/she gives up the old skin to see...

At that size males and females look pretty much the same. So the "pot belly" you might be looking for could or could not be there for both sexes at this size if you know what I mean. Some males at that size will have huge abdomens and some won't and the same goes with females. Depends on how much they eat and how much you feed them. In adult hood you can generally see that the females tank the males - lol.

And some times there won't be an obvious black dot or half moon of hairs (Epiandrous fusillae) above the epigastric furrow that indicates male, it depends on the tarantula. Some tarantula's can be very tricky and surprise you later on down the road being the opposite sex of what you swore up and down it was by trying to guess the sex ventrally. It is still fun to guess that way though IMO and some times there really is no doubt as to what it is going to be
