Second shed after ovulation but where are the eggs?

In this season I breed 5 females. All 5 had ovulations and pre-lay shed. But 2 of them doesn't lay and they going to next shed! I don’t know what I suppose to think about it. They had all the sings like ridge back etc… and they looking big! I think that I feel the eggs but I’m not good in it. Why it goes like this? Is there any chance that they will lay after second shed? Did You ever had some case like that?

Our second clutch was like that. She ovulated, shed, and then shed one more time before she laid. It was about 6 days after the second shed that she laid. If you're sure they ovulated, just wait longer. That's what it's all about. Waiting, waiting, and waiting. Then you finally get to wait some more. Then when eggs come, you get to wait some more. Then when they hatch, you get to wait for the first shed...then you get to wait til they eat....haha. just a bunch of waiting!

I had two females this season shed twice before they laid their eggs. This is not to uncommon. Just keep your fingers crossed and hopefully they will lay. I had one female lay eggs on 3/31/11 and the rest were about two months away from laying. Never can tell what mother nature has up her sleeve. Good luck!

I also had this happen before. The eggs came within about a week of the second post-ovulation shed. I'm sure you'll get your eggs soon!

This is why you count from ovulation and not the sheds. The sheds are not a good way to figure out lay days.

I go 48-50days after ovulation when to expect eggs, as each year my one female and new female i got dont shed when they ovulate.
