Whether making your own...using commercial bags...or using a good ol' pillowcase...be sure to turn the seams INSIDE OUT. This serves two critical purposes. One, it prevents the snake from getting tangled into any loose thread loops. Two, it allows you to inspect the seams carefully for any weakened areas. Corners are especially vulnerable to coming loose. The snake can and will push doggedly at a corner of the bag or any loose spot, until it forces an opening it can get through.
