    Goodbye South Bismarck :(

I suppose this is what we get for building dams and building a city on a river...you get flooded out.
The whole south town of Bismarck, ND will be screwed in the next weeks to come.
The zoo has closed, they have evactuated all their animals. South Clinics have closed. There are multiple sandbagging sites with volunteers working 24/7 helping fill sandbags. The national gaurd is here trying to build levees and help people with the bagging.
There has been manditory evacuations of most river front homes. And its just going to get worse. Were at about 18ft thats 2ft above "flood stage" in other words people are moving their belongings out of their basements and sandbagging all around their homes. sewer drains have backed up in businesses and homes. its nasty.
Its been crazy around here. People are going to be homeless and its gonna be bad.
Here are some websites showing the flood maps...

I couldn't get any of those links to work.

But, that still stinks. It's been a crazy few days in regards to the weather. Everywhere. I wish you luck in the upcomming days.

Sorry to say it to people all over the country, but..

    I told you so.

The worst I have to worry about is tornadoes, snow, and blizzards, and I'm well prepared for those situations. Floods, volcanoes, quakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes.. well, you choose where you live.

That really sucks. The only bright side I can see is that at least you have some warning of the impending disaster. Lately, whole neighborhoods and towns have been wiped off maps in a single fell swoop that came with no warning, not to mention the unimaginable scope of things in Japan, Haiti, and so many other places. Of course it is hardest when its our own home rather than someone else's being swept away, and you have my deepest sympathies. I hope your own home is on high ground.

yeah that got ot suck I hope all make it though ok , here in lower Delaware we at at droght levels already, and it looks like will be a dry summer for me , guess no new snakes outside what I produce this season and can trade around later. I hate to see the repair work cost too after the floodsing in most spots it going to be total lost on homes cause of the mildew and any other damage they get.

A tornado would be much scarier than a flood IMO. Ive been through a few tornados before, but nothing that devistated a town.
It seems like all these natural disaters are all happening at once, all over the world. Makes you feel more thankful when your safe.

I luckily am on high ground here. Plus I live in a basement duplex. I cant imagine moving all of my stuff out...that would be a headache and them some!
I just hope people can be safe with all these disasters happening.
