One of my males has a VERY strong feeding response. He's quite excited by the prospect of food and will strike blindly whenever he smells rats, even before the tub is open.
One night I was feeding him last, so he was super excited. He struck, missed, bit himself, and then tried to constrict himself. It was really pathetic watching a small ball python flail around on the ground trying to get a grip on his own tail.
When he realized his mistake he ducked into his hide and refused to come out for the rest of the night! I think he was a bit embarrassed.

Haha! I love this. Mine will strike as well, but after feed. I've witnessed her bump her little nose quite a few times.

Anyway, so the snowman tells the other snowman, "smells like carrots in here"..haha.
