I make my own hides (modeled from the Reptile Basics).

Appropriate sized Rubbermaid Storage Containers, painted with Krylon Fusion or Rustoleum Plastic paint. Access hole cut, and there you have it.

I actually cut these down because I felt they were too tall for my colubrids. I simply used some heavy duty snips and cut right along that ridge and made a new access hole. Much more cramped for the snakes.

I have 2 more drying right now. I give mine a week to cure either outside on sunny days or in a tank with a heat lamp on - just to help the fumes dissipate.

I work at a bar so i use the boxes that fountain soda comes in.
Theres a perfect hole and the smaller ones are a great size.
They are free, i can always get new ones and they dont take up much space.
I bet if you went to any fast food store or something they would save you a box.

I used my soldering iron to make a hole in one of the McDonalds' Halloween happy meal buckets my kids had for the 1598gr girl I just brought home. She was too big for anything I already had.

I use empty soda boxes for my big BP. The other one, Gene, refuses to use anything but a rock hide that is way too small for him.
