Cage for Isis
As her tub is beginning to look small for her, I am planning on getting her a cage soon. I was thinking of one of those cages with the door in the front that latches and are stackable (so I can get more cages and get more boas). She is around 4ft long right now and about 3lbs.
What size cage do you recommend for her and who do you recommend I get the cage from?

I don't know boas that well, so I won't recommend a size. However, Animal Plastics, or Boa Master will have what you seek.

Re: Cage for Isis
I really like the Boaphile cage we have. The swinging door can be kind of a pain though cause it swings down and I'm afraid I might break it off if I bump it. Animal Plastics and PVC Cages also make some nice ones. I think when I get our boa his new cage I will go with AP, they have a 6' one that I like (the T25 model w/sliding doors). They can be heated with flex watt or a RHP. As far as size, I'd go with the biggest size you can afford. Unlike Balls, Boas do fine in big spaces. Our little guy will be in a 2x2x1.5 as soon as he's out of QT and he is TINY. He'll have a few different hides and branches to keep him happy in it.

I have two Boaphiles and I love them. I have never found the doors to be a problem. For my BCI, I have one of the six foot cages, which breaks down into two three foot sections. There are a number of heating options.
For my BP I have a smaller unit.
When seeking information about Boaphile cages, the best thing you can do is to call Jeff. He almost NEVER answers email unless it is regarding an in-progress sale.

Re: Cage for Isis
Check out www.constrictorsnw.com for proline cages.
I use and really like boaphile cages.
Your boa is 4 feet and will do great in a 4 foot cage.

We bought a baby boa from Boamaster last night. We bought one of the cages that you are talking about also. He has two kinds the plastic or whatever the material he was talking about. I'm not the best at remembering things. Thoughs have the sliding doors in the front. We bought the one with the latch door (wood). We went a head and got the largest one he had so we wouldn't have to buy anymore. He recommended getting small tubs for a while and just sitting them inside the enclosure until he gets a little larger. The cages are super sturdy and easy to put together. We don't plan on getting anymore boas so the only thing I wish it came with is some kind of pedistal or stand Also nice guy to deal with.

i have a couple boaphiles and love them! ive heard Jeff is hard to reach but the few times ive called him he answered the phone and readily answered my questions. same with emails. i have always received replys from him almost immediately.
i have also bought cages from animal plastics. customer service was really great there for me as well. i like the doors that swing down rather than the sliding doors. i had a boa who would always poop up against the door and it made it hard to clean.
good luck!
