    Spider Help....!

Need some help boys and girls, are Spider morphs supposed to act a little on the strange side? I recently bought a female Spider at a show and the owner assured me that the Spiders in particular are a bit "wobblely" and since I've had her for the past few days her behavior is extremely odd. She seems to have much less control over her head/neck than any ball I've ever owned and at times she almost rests her head on the side. She is very energetic but very hard to hold as she is ALL over the place with her head movements. Please excuse my lack of a better description but I've never seen a snake act this way. Please tell me this is normal! Thanks, Joe

Some Spiders display a bunch of wobble and some not at all. Some grow out of it and some grow into it. Stress can also bring it on. It sounds like you really should leave her along if you have only had her for a few days. It is really hard to say. I was super clear to the breeder I got my snake from that I wasn't interested in an animal that was all over the place. I can't tell my Bumble Bee has any wobble at all unless he drops his prey item after constriction. Only then, on a rare occasion, he searches around a bit for it. If you weren't looking for it you wouldn't be able to see it but there are some subtle things. I would recommend leaving the snake alone for a week and then seeing how things look.

    Regards,

    B

Some spiders have much more of a wobble than others, and it sounds like yours has a pretty prominent wobble. Since you've only had her for a short time like Brian said stress could be making it much worse. Try leaving her alone for a week or so. Mine has a slight wobble but her head goes nuts when she's getting ready to eat. I actually keep a small hide in her rack for her to feel more secure (she's only 105 grams).

Like they said yours sounds like it has a pretty bad wobble. Dont worry though, even the spiders with bad wobbles can thrive with TLC.

I own two spiders, one 07 and one '10. the 07 has no wobble at all, my '10 wobbles when shes about to strike. I also own a bumble bee that has no wobble at least for the moment. He just hit a year old and still none. Hopefully yours will grow out of it, or its just a stress reaction.
