Actually, they're not. While beer & honkey tonks (i.e. a country bar) do arise as frequent subjects of country songs, that's not what they're limited to along with tractors. I'd venture to say that most country songs, especially the newer stuff, are about every day people dealing with everyday situations that come up in every day life. Or as it's often put, "country music is three chords and real life."
Just to clear up any misconceptions...you know, since you don't actually listen to it.
In addition to country, my tastes include everything except hard-core rap & extreme heavy metal (anything ridiculously obscene or blasphemous is a HUGE turnoff).
My iPod has a mix of everything from Beethoven to Garth Brooks, Miles Davis to Leonard Cohen, Tori Amos to Sepultura, and just about everything in between. Country, blues, metal, jazz, showtunes, gospel, folk, techno, R&B, classic rock, celtic music, Spanish guitar, good ol' rock & roll, bluegrass, big band....it just goes on & on. We'd be here all day if I tried to list them all...the soundtrack of my life is together eclectic & colorful.
