    Saved a dog today :)

Some people would have let her go...Some people might have taken her home. Some people might not have bothered to check her tags.
But Max and I did! While out on a brief walk around my neighborhood, a cute little dog was running up the street. She was obviously friendly, as she was not growling but sniffing our trail and following us. I patted my legs and whistled and she came right over, and knew to "sit" and "stay", which I had her do while I checked her tags.
Her name was Nellie and she lived a block away, but had no leash. So Max called the number on the tag and Nellie's owners came and got her.
But she sure was cute, and I liked her a lot. She was very sweet.
Here's a photo of her and I together waiting for the owners on the street.

Very nice So many people just ignore strays, assuming "someone else will take care of it". It's nice seeing others who care. My friends and family think I'm crazy for the amount of strays I've pulled off the streets and even out of traffic. We need more people like you.

I always make an effort to find a lost dog's owners, or even a cat if it looks unhealthy (most cats around here are outdoor anyway, but if one looks real scraggaly or in bad shape, I'll try to find who it belongs to in case it's been lost for a few days).
I always try to imagine if it was my dog who was lost, and how I'd feel. I'd be crushed.
Also, there's some people out there who run animals over on purpose.
    Not on my watch, buddy.
