for 2 seconds please...........
I have raised and bred bullies for some time now. UKC show and weight pull dogs must meet standards. The original crop came in the fighting pit, one less thing for the other gladiator to grab ontoThe ABDA kept it as a standard because they were the original organized pit fighting group and the crop continued and overflowed as the standard look.
In registered dogs, the pricing is high and if they meet conformation it will be even higher. On the medical end of it there are two reasons I love cropping. Big floppy cute ears hold in moisture and can cause problems in game dogs that get to play in water more than they should. **Cropped the ears on an adult male I had that continued to have ear infections for several years nonstop, after removing the ear flap the infection cleared up easily and never came back** and the second thing is the bully pups play really rough, vet bills add up on stitching ears and then the ear looks bad almost permanently.
Sad part is after the initial whimper of pain they forget about it and then shake their head, now you have a pup with a bleeding ear that is hard to stop in the first place AND walls and ceiling covered in blood from the pup shaking those big floppy ears.
little longer than 2 seconds and sorry
BTW I love the looks of your dobie, I love the "super dog" on the bed pose.
They grow up quick and I bet those ears look great!!! Dobies get posted and bullys bring in the playboy channel!!!!
