So I think I need a couple of snake hooks......

Just to open the tubs on feeding day.

I was half way through feeding the BP's and it was Cleo's turn.

I leant down, put my hands under the handles so nothing hung over the lip when it opened.

Turns out Cleo isn't daft and knows how to change direction mid strike.

She didn't want to let go either.

And this was before I even took the rat out of the thawing box to offer it to her. Who says you can't get a good feeding response on F/T.

This is it after the clean up and medicinal whisky. The headline seemed appropriate.

To add insult to injury the remaining two snakes fed after that also seemed to find my wounded paw more attractive than a measely rat.

So I'm thinking of making or buying two small snake hooks or a pair of gaunlets.

Yea I feed from 24" hemostats.

She did that before we got to that stage though - I can't open the tubs with the hemostats the way my rack works.

I normally open the tub then go get the rat and hairdrier the head and offer it on the hemostats.

This lets them know it's feeding time normally - tonight Cleo seems to have got a step ahead of the process.

And she is about the 2.5 kilo mark.
