You won't find a good visual pied for less than $900 this year I don't think. Het for pieds you can easily get a pair for $300-400. Define ripping you a new one? lol

I have seen male piebalds for as low as 650 for a low white. A young het. pied will go for around 200. Just look on kingsnake.com and Faunaclassifeds.... Find a breeder with a good reputation if you are looking at a het. If you can't trust the breeder don't buy from them.....

Annarose, Pete has some pretties! I might just buy from him because I found a male I really like! can you tell me, since you bought one from him, how is the temperment of your snake?

She's still young (hatched in August), so she's a little shy, but I've noticed that all of mine get more calm with age. She has never struck at me.

Re: WHat to breed to get a Piebalds?

The specific breeder doesn't say anything for the temperament of a snake. I have six from the same breeder and they are all different.
    0.1 Albino Nelson's Milk snake
    1.1 Pewter
    0.1 Mojo Spider (Gaia)
    0.1 Bumblebee
    1.0 Lesserbee
    1.1 Fire (Pele)
    0.1 Axanthic VPI (Isis)
    0.1 Normal
    0.1 Pastel
    1.0 Albino Burmese ("Bad Dog")

    1.0 Wolf aka Puffball (Trapper)

    1.0 Dork Boy (Roo)

+1 and the temperament can change also, I've had one that was literally a ball 24/7 scared to death of me and he's now the sweetest thing ever, even lets my son hold him lol. Temperament depends on the snake itself, not necessarily the breeder.

I would recommend getting a female Pied or Het Pied first. Females take up to 3 years before they are ready for breeding where males can breed in a year or sometimes less. Personally I would get a het pied female and then a visual pied male. I think that is the best bang for your buck! If you can afford to buy both visual pieds then you will produce all pied babies. Also alot of breeders will give you a deal if you buy a male/female pair! A friend of mine bought a female pied and asked the breeder to through in a het pied male for free and he did! Talk to many breeders and see who will give you the best deal! Brian at BHB, Ralph Davis and Brian Gundy are some good breeders!
