    Re: rare Spider !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky you, Saskia!! Even without the unusual markings, that would be a very handsome spider. The markings make him exceptionally special!

I'm surprised he sold it, but that is a great pickup! Really cool one of a kind snake regardless if it is genetic or not. Congrats!

I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon for posting to this older thread. I am glad that the thread popped back up, because I don't remember seeing it when it was originally posted, plus, we actually got to see an updated pic. Thanks for the update by the way.

Now, on to my thoughts on the snake. It is definitely a paradox, and is something that is not completely unheard of when breeding animals involving the Albino gene. Typically I have seen this when Albino is on both sides of the pairing, and in some cases, the snake is half Albino and half Normal. The question there is: what is the genotype. In other words is it an Albino with normal paradox markings (i.e. two albino alleles on the locus), or a Normal with Albino paradox markings (i.e. one albino allele on the locus). Kind of like the age old question about a Zebra being black with white stripes or the other way around.

While this animal is not as drastic as some, it would definitely be interesting to see the outcome of it's breedings (please remember to post them whenever it happens). The sad thing is the one or two animals that we see produced like this every year, end up being lost forever. I have never heard of or seen the outcomes of these paradox animal breedings that include Albino in them. Obviously the smartest breeding to determine what is going on would be breeding the paradox to an Albino, to determine if all of the offspring are Albino, or there are some hets in there, as this would definitively determine the genotype of the animal.

Thanks again for the updated pics, and I hope we can see some breeding results in the future.

    Thanks for the nice repy's

As far as I kno the parents are Bumblebee X Albino, so he should be a normal paradox spider (Spider Het. Albino).

I will try to breed him with an Albino female next season and I will keep you all updated.

I will also breed him with a pastel het.albino female who has produced paradox offspring before I'm pretty sure its not genetic, but who knows....

    Regards,
    Saskia

looking very nice spider saskia it's still a great animal

This week i had a clutch from Spider Het Albino X Albino ( daddy from your spider) and i think there is paradox spider again( less paradox then yours ) so i think daddy makes the paradox spiders so when it had his shed i will try to make some pictures from this guy
