The search function on the forum is your best bet since its a collaboration of multiple people that can debate, not just one source.

I don't see evidence of the spider gene compromising the health of the animal at all. here's a write up I did, I was more focused on just answering general questions asked all the time about spiders. http://www.owalreptiles.com/articles/spider.php

I don't like Spiders, Piebalds, Lemon Blasts, Dreamsickles, and I don't care too much for Pastels, but they're starting to grow on me a little.

Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs

i guess im the opp. when it comes to the pastel and darker snakes i like them both. i dont care for albinos and high white pieds but low white i like. i dont care for spiders either they are nice to look at but their issues throw me off about them and everything that has the gene. i do want a black pastel and cinny and pewter and another pastel. but other then that i like them all they all have their own personality and colors no matter if its a 60 dollar normal all the way up to the thousands of dollar morphs i like them all

The only morphs I really DO like are pastels, spiders, pieds, and leucis. I think my least favorites are probably pinstripes, g stripes, mojaves, cinnies, lessers, and most of the newer high-end morphs (Fire, pewter, striated, etc) I like lots of patterns or reduced but still recognizable patterns, and high contrast. Except in albinos, I like low contrast.

Thanks for the link ... very interesting reading! This is a great place to research and learn. Glad to hear there aren't a considerable number of health problems with spiders (I now realize I had mistakenly type 'bees' instead of spiders). Also, I was perhaps overly concerned about the ethics. Thanks for the helpful info and advice.

Nothing I really hate, although spiders with their wobble and caramels which are often born kinked and whatnot... not too fond of. I don't like the idea of breeding animals with known genetic problems & defects. I will say that I love the look of both of those morphs, though. I can see why people breed them, I just don't really agree with it.

Axanthics would top my list for a morph that doesn't do it for me looks-wise... I like colour. Champagnes I don't really like much either.

Me either, but every so often I'll see one that makes me go WOW! Not to mention, the combos they can create are amazing... so I might be tempted to get one eventually, LOL.
