    Yellow cinnamon ASF?

I just found this photo of an ASF whose colouring I find quite lovely.

Has anyone else seen a colour pop up like this in their litters?
I'm pretty sure it's a really really light cinnamon, but I've never seen one so yellow.

    Any info?

Does it have red eyes, though?

I have one with similar colors. I'm not sure if she is that light though. I will try to get a picture tomorrow.

Great! Let me know, cause if you have some that are light enough I might have Beth come pick some more up from you. . .

She likes the ones she's holding for me so much she's been talking about coming up there to get some from you for herself.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm going to trade for some of her mice when she gets a chance to make the trip.

I was mistaken on the sex. He is the male in the tub. He has produced some very different shades of agouti's, but nothing as yellow as himself yet. Some are really dark, others more grey, and some yellowish.

    Him and his girlfriends!

Some weaners that he produced recently

Wow. Out of several hundred ASFs I'm pretty sure all of mine look the same. Are those colors/patterns just random mutations, or is it like a BP morph that has to be introduced?

Yeah, I just checked and they all have the same boring pattern. Some of their colors do look slightly less dark than the others though.

I think that they are similar to Ball Morph's.
I don't know a lot about the genetics of ASF's, but I keep whats different and breed it back. Every time I come across a color that I don't have, I add it to my colony.

I started with ASF's about a year ago with a 1.5 trio of regular Pieds. They threw a few babies with more white than normal. I kept those and bred them back. I figured out that if you breed 2 high white animals they will produce some babies with more white than the parents. Long story short. I'm now producing high white and all white animals. I just produced a litter that had 3 black eyed whites, 1 platinum, and one odd ear!! That has been my best litter so far!!

Looks like what both of you have there are cinnamons and agouti. Nice cinnamon boy though, Koolo. I'm trying to breed for a redder, darker pigment in my cinnamons.
Finally got ONE solid cinnamon baby. Crossing my fingers about it, the last one got eaten.

I'm just fascinated by the pic I posted, I'd love to find some of the same colour, I'm sure it's just a really really light cinnamon or agouti, but either way, it would be a great colour to work with!

Spitzu, your ASFs look fat an happy!
