As much as I'm sure people will resent me for saying this... I don't think BP's have the mental capacity to be permanently scarred by a single event. They seem to learn from repeated things(this side is warm, over there is cold) and will definitely react to recent events, but life long emotional scarring... that might require a bit more mental capacity.
I think she's in defensive mode at the moment after a rough time, but give it a while and she should be back to normal.
