Yeah, I clicked edit...but it apparently didn't edit, because I noticed the dimensions after I posted this.
I might end up building a couple. I have 2 racks coming from Animal Plastics, but this 5 week wait is driving me nuts...so...I think I build the next ones.
Really nice DIY write up and rack B. I am building a second leo rack this weekend and IF I find the XPVC locally I will go ahead with it but I noticed that you did not use any spacers for the tubs, are the tubs sliding smooth? Will they slide without any force when the flexwatt is installed?
Thanks
The tubs slide smooth with the tape in until it gets to the very back of the rack. I choose to put the tape in the front gap, although not my original plan. The tubs taper a bit from top to bottom so I wouldn't get as much tape actually touching the tubs if I put them in the rear of the rack. 3/4" or so wouldn't be in contact with the tubs. The two back supports got rid of a bit of flex when it was all screwed and glued. I don't mind though because it is only once the tub is almost 100% of the way in. This would help prevent the tub from accidentally being opened. I would probably put spacers in my next rack but ONLY where I wanted the heat tape. The tighter tolerance in the other area just makes sense for retaining the tubs better.
I've found XPVC at curbell plastics locally for $88 per 5x8 sheet plus $9 to cut to order. The tubs were $8.49 for the 32 qt and $5.49 for the 15 qt (i think that is way high).

so I'm into it for about $165.
grrr i hate you can only update for 10 mins.
You need to add flexwatt and the connections...that was $55
sub total $220...plus thermostat i got a Herpstat for $119.
$339 total
I actually was able to build one 9 section rack and one 7 section rack with 2 5x8s and to pieces of 17"x10' I found locally.
