Yet another Flexwatt question
I'm sorry for repeating a question that I'm sure has been asked numerous times but I havn't been able to find out quite what I'm looking for. I have a 41 quart quart melamine rack I need to put heating in. It is a horizontal rack and I'm going to individually wire flexwatt ran to a thermistat. My question is a 1ft of 11" flexwatt sufficient per shelf per one side of a tub? Or is it over kill.

Thats been answered on here abou 10 times, 3" flexwatt is all you need if your keeping steady room temps

I use 1 foot per shelf of the 11" flexwatt with no problem. Depending on how your rack is, you may only need the 3". This is mine:

Nothing fancy, but I have the 1' of 11" flexwatt taped down on the right side so my tubs are only about half covered on the bottom. If you are doing the rack where there will be multiple tubs per shelf, you are probably better off running 3" flexwatt across the bottom...
Again, I think it depends on your shelf, because my 11" flexwatt is perfect for mine.

Depends on the room temp, the rack, and what's going into the tub. My personal feeling is you can always turn down the heat but if you don't have enough you can't add it.

its overkill you only need 3" strip
I love it when people tell me, "You should think before you speak!" I'm like, "I did. It's what I think and I really don't give a crap what other people think."

Re: Yet another Flexwatt question
3 inch will be enough if you room temps are good i run 11 inch and have about 3 deg higher temps on the cool side of my tub 31qt than room temp...but as long as there is enough floor space for a temp gradent either will work
