Graphite ball python
So what is the word on the graphite ball python from Ben Siegel Reptiles? I've known about it for some time but I never hear anyone talking about it and its a pretty sweet snake. Does any body have any info on this morph? I think it comes from his orange bellies with some sort of hidden gene thing going on but I'm not sure. Can anybody clarify this for me? Thanks

Re: Graphite ball python
I can ask him next time I see him, just depends if he'll let me relay that info to the public, ive seen some crazy stuff that he has or has sold and there is some stuff that ive never even seen let alone knew existed. And I will tell you these graphites are amazing! pictures do no justice for these animals.

Re: Graphite ball python
Graphite Ivory and Ultra Ivorys are made using OB's (Siegel). The original Graphite was made from a OB x YB breeding. A couple of other breeders have produced Graphites from OB x OB breedings, and Ben Siegel has made more Graphites from his Graphite Male to OB females.
I am currently working on a few OB combos to hopefully make some Combo Graphites in a few years. Awesome Morph with alot of potential. If you like Yellowbellies, how can you not love Orangebellies?

Re: Graphite ball python
Last I heard is that he is still trying to figure out whats happening with the graphite ivories and the ultras. When I talked to him last year at Repticon Atlanta he also said some of the ultras look like regular ivories as they age. I still thing OB's are a must have for anyone that has a YB project.

Ya, I talked to him on the phone some time back about purchasing a some orange bellies but he said the only way to ensure that I could get a graphite was to buy a graphite or something along that line, it was a long time ago. And yes you are right, he does have some crazy awesome snakes and much more. Seemed like a pretty good guy.

So will pairing one of his ob's with one of my yb's produce graphites or ultra's or is there some sort of hidden gene thing going on where only a few ob's carry the gene. I guess what im asking is it a proven statistical gene say like het to het albino will produce 25% albinos?

I know, I love the yellow bellies, I'm hoping for some ivories this year.
