I know nothing about carpets though, so someone else can chime in and inform you about that one. I just thought I'd throw in my suggestion for a new snake, because it's the one I want. I'm trying to find a nice Black Milksnake. I had never considered colubrids before, but after seeing the Black Milksnake, I must have one! They reach an average of 4-6ft, to my knowledge, and are said to be fairly docile. Not to mention how awesome it is to watch them start from tricolored (hatchling) and mature into solid black (adult)!!
