Hyperactive at night

Recently my 1 year old bp has been out cruising frantically at night. For the past year it would come out at night and sit under the CHE, get a drink, slither around a lil, or just sit outside of its hides.

But for the past 2 weeks its been really out cruising around trying to get out and pushing on the screen lid. Its seems to be moving faster than it normally does - speed wise. Almost neurotic. If you approach the tank it won't pay you no mind and just keeps looking for a way out. Opposite of what's its been doing for the past year.

Could it just be that the snake is feeling more secure with its older age or could something be making the snake uncomfortable in its enclosure? Im worried it's gonna get blisters on its nose from rubbing the sides and top.

In a 20 gal long sides and top covered. Temps are good. Eats weekly and sheds in one piece. Seems healthy, hides all day, but really wants out at night. Should I take it out when it wants out and let it roam about my room?
It seems neurotic lately... Any input is appreciated.

May possibly be hungry. Also, I think it is becoming more comfortable since it has matured in the last year. Assuming a year ago your was a juvenile, it is probably more accustomed to its environment. Mine is behaving the exact same way.

Not sure of the sex. No changes made to the tank. I don't think it's hungry, because it will start this behavior two days after it eats. Sometimes it will refuse a small rat and just continue looking for and escape route. Crawling over the thawed rat in the process.

Ball pythons are more active at night anyways but if you have a male it could be looking hard for a mate.

My ball pythons, my two males AND my female have been doing it. Cleo (male) does it all the time at night, whereas Nergal and Madison (female) will only be active at night if I have them out together during the day, i.e. in a tub together while cleaning out tanks, or letting someone hold them both. Then that night and the next few days they'll never use their hide and try to pry the screen lid off the tank. :/ Funny thing is MAdison is too small to breed, so it doesn't make sense why she's doing this, but it would for the boys if they're looking for a mate (and they are big boys so definitely breeding size).

well im looking for a male bp at this moment since my sisters got out sometime last night early this morning. so i feel ya little escape artists if u dont lock them down they will get out and have fun trying to find them wonder if i let my female out wonder if he would come out of his hiding spot.
