What kind of snake is this?

Found in the DFW area! My mom wants to know what it is, any ideas? I don't know my Texas snakes very well, and I'd like to get to know them better.

Yeah, my mom was afraid to go near it, so that's the best picture she gave me. She's very curious about snakes ever since she took photos of my babies, but she doesn't know venemous from non venemous well yet.
