    Taking the plunge...

So I've been thinking on this point for some time, and I've reserved my first tarantula. I will be picking it up on May first at the expo, and although I know it will never be a hand pet, I'm perfectly fine with that. It's going to be a xenesthis immanis ( I believe the common name is Columbian lesserblack, right?) From Tarantula Canada, about 1". I've been considering an immanis for a good long while but never really considered them very seriously because I never found any around here. Then for kicks I checked out tarantulacanada.ca and saw they had one, so I went for it. I'm so excited now!

Congrats!! You will have fun with it!! They are very leggy, a bit more special needs then a brachy and get quite a bit bigger too. When they are smaller be careful taking the lid off of the container because they can spaz and run right out the container (it's happened to me before). Make sure you post lots of pics when you get it

Nice choice! The pic I found here, the markings remind me of Darth Maul from Star Wars episode 1.

Haha it's true! I never thought of that I'm such a bad Star Wars fan for not noticing lol.
