Then a hypo boa probably isn't for you; there are tons of really neat-looking dark boas (if you're really into dark boas you might also consider looking into some different locales and subspecies, such as B. c. imperator from Nicaragua or Corn Island, or B. c. occidentalis, or B. c. longicauda. There are plenty of beautiful dark Colombians too, but it's worth looking at others). But if you really like the clean, smooth looks of the hypos, then get one. As for predicting adult colorations, the only way to do it is to look at the parents. Other than that, you can bet that the darker hatchling is going to be a darker adult, but there's no real way to tell; some hypos lighten with age, although most darken. If you want a dark hypo, go with the darker hatchling.
