question about off season ball python
hi everyone.
i been trying to breed my ball python since january 2011 (this my first time), and i been witnessing copulation quite many times and i still see copulation until now.
but till today i don't see any bowl wraping, body laying up side down or any sign of developing, i try to palpate but can't feel anything (still not sure how to do it right).
my question is
1.what to look for when ball python off season? are they refuse the male and not doing copulation?
2.how long do i have to put my male and female together before i say thats it. end of the line. 'they off season this year with all the reason'
I don't want to push them to much but i'll be lying if im not hoping them to breed but their health comes first.
so guys would you be kind enough to help me with the advice or guidance
thank you very much

Re: question about off season ball python
Can you give some more info about the age and weight of your female? Also, you sound like you may want to do a little more research about breeding. How long have you had them? Also, to answer your question, there is not really an off season, they CAN breed anytime. Hope this helps!

Re: question about off season ball python
i breed my butter male 1200 gram 2 years old with 1 normal female (1600 grams, 3 years old). 2 pastel female 1500 grams and 1400 grams both of them 2 1/2 years old. i raise them from baby (150-175 grams when i had them). i'm 100% sure about their sex throught poping and probing. i breed them with 3 days in and 3 days off, so every female get change to mating 1 a month.
the latest condition.
butter male: off feed for 2 weeks (weight now is become 1125)
normal female: off feed for 4 weeks (last time she eat is 15 of march), i don't know this because she building up or any unknown reason.(weight now is stay 1600, no more no less even with 4 weeks off feed)
both pastel still eating and about to sheeding.
i'am just worry by breeding them to many times will eventually cause them 2 stress and degenerate their health, for i've been keeping on doing this for almost 4 month.
thanks you
