Quick simple question

I have finally moved my snake out of her glass tank and into her tub. She seems content with it, but she won't use her hid, she likes it under the news paper. I don't know if she wont use the hid due to stress, or if she just feels more secure under the newspaper. I'm not stressing over it, because she doesn't seem to be either, she seems happy.
What I need help with is the humidity. While it's not low, it's actually really high. It's currently in the low 80's (which I'm okay with for right now because she is in shed). But when she's out of shed, that needs to go down. Also, her ambient is in the 70's. Which I know is not good. But her warm side is in the low 90's with her uth, hooked up to her thermostat. I need to work on her ambient. I have a ceramic bulb, but I can't put that on her tub because it'll melt the plastic. Any idea's on what I can do to kind of rig the bulb so it can help keep her tub warm? I also think once the get the bulb up, it'll lower her humidity slightly. Any advice would be great.

For a rig, could I get some blocks of wood and but her lamp on the wood blocks and hook the bulb up to her thermostat as well? I don't think she'd need full power on the bulb, just about half. It's just to take the chill out, or do you think it might melt the plastic that way as well?

And as a little humorous side note, every time I set up an appointment for my snake to see the vet, she always goes into shed. I made her an appointment last week and she didn't look like she was going to go into shed for a while, well she proved me wrong. The day I switched her from the glass to the tub her belly was all red, which I know is a sign of her going into shed. It's like she knows!! lol

Many people will probably disagree with me, but I have had my snakes in a rack for a year now, and during the winter when we keep the heat at about 68 degrees, my tubs rarely go above 70 for an ambient temp. I keep the hot spot where the flexwatt is between 90 & 92. All of my snakes eat regularly and have never been sick with RI's or anything else. Like I said, many will probably disagree, but I haven't had any problems.

As far as humidity, you probably need to drill some holes in the side of the tub (about 1/4" or less). Start with a few, and then gradually add more holes until you get the humidity where you want it.

Okay. thanks for letting me know about your heating. I just got my girl checked out by the vet today and she's all nice and healthy. No problems what so ever.
Her tub already has holes in the side, and it's still so high in the humidity. Any other tips?

How many holes does your tub have? I had to literally drill about 30-40 holes on each side of mine until the humidity got where it should be.
