strange behaviour

Recently my BP has been doing something strange. Usually s/he is very shy and spends 95% of his/her time in one of the hides. I used to only see the BP sometimes late at night, usually when the light had been turned off. Now she is different and is out of her hides most of the time. And in the evening she is especially active always looking around climbing up the glass like she is trying to find a way out. This has been going on for about 10-15 days now. Is this normal? Maybe she is horny and looking for a mate.???

Any ideas?

Usually snakes roam a lot when they are stressed, or looking for food. Stress is usually the main factor though.

What is your set up like, temps, hides?

How often is your feeding schedule and what are you feeding?

85-75F temp gradient across the cage. about 50% humidity. Two hides - one in cool end and one in warm end. Fresh water. Has been eating more than normal over the past 2 weeks but before then (when he was behaving normal) he hadn't eaten for a few weeks.

Doesn't seem stressed, just seems very active. Seems to enjoy being out of his cage more than before.

You need a hot spot of 92. And ball pythons are nocturnal and very shy both in captivity and in the wild, so roaming around a lot means something is pushing then out of their comfort zone. What are you feeding him and how often?

I would guess that it is the lack of a good hotspot. It seems like hes searching for a good spot to digest. It makes sence that he wasn't eating before. Those are cooling/brumation temps.
