Re: when buying a snake why does your email need to contain ebonics? Seriously??
I have only sent 3 text messages in my life and they all said the same thing:
If you want to talk to me call me.
Oh well I am old and set in my ways and yes it does bother me when people do not take a little time to at least try. I understand mis-spelled words on something that does not have a spell checker, some of my best friends are bad at spelling, but at least they make an attempt.

Yas. Is that a male. Ans r you gonna come to my crib
You should have had some fun with him...
"My dear Mr. Clark,
I will do my best to answer your inquiries. I am not sure what this "Yas" is that you referenced, so if you would be so kind as to elaborate I will do my best to respond to that statement. I believe the next statement was supposed to be a question, so I will answer it as such: Yes, it is a male. As far as the next "sentence", I will do my best to interpret whatever it was you were trying to convey. I think you were trying to ask if I would go to your crib. I am terribly sorry, but I can not do business with infants or toddlers that still reside in a crib. I would be happy to do business with your parents, or even with you after you mature and are able to speak and drive yourself to my location.
Warmest regards,
Mike"

Seriously if your emailing someone looking to buy ANYTHING why the need for slang?
Does it bother you when you get emails or things like this?
I would reply "I sure would love to reply to your e-mail, but unfortunately I cannot understand it."

My biggest thing is emails that have text shorthand in them. Take the time to type the word PLEASE instead of PLZ, I know I know your fingers are tired from hours of World of Warcraft. but still the word is could not cud.
I will typically answer people is a very nice." I'm sorry but it looks like your message got scrambled when you sent it, it's missing half th letters. Could you please check the original message and make sure all the letters and words are there, because I can't quite figure out what you're needing."

I'm so happy I'm not the only one who thinks this way! I'm guilty of using OMG occasionally, I'll admit it.
Oh, and I'm awful at spelling so I installed an add-on to my browser (free) that checks the spelling of everything I type.
I have a friend who texts me sometimes and I've had to read the text out loud and sound stuff out to decipher what she was trying to say!

Ohhhh I HATE crap like that. My other pet peeve is when I need to answer questions that are already in the ad. Like they aren't taking time to read. And the consistent slang and short type is pretty annoying. But my ultimate hate is when I have an ad up for multiple animals where ive taken the time to put up price, age, sex, weight, type, eating habits etc. Of each one and I get " Is it still avail?" or "I want one" or "how much for it".
What do you want??? All the information is right there in front of your darn face if you would just read. And you have to tell me what you interested in. I don't even answer them really. I very rarely post up on cl because when I do I get 100 crummy emails that the people don't tell me all the info, or can't speak properly. It's annoying and unprofessional. I usually just go through and look for the ones that can make whole sentences, and ask any important questions they have where I haven't already put the information in the ad. First impressions kill. And IMHO most of the people that send out those really annoying emails are the ones I don't want buying my animals.

Re: when buying a snake why does your email need to contain ebonics? Seriously??
I could probably spend all day writing up a reply on this subject. But, I will just say in short that the deterioration of the English language since the invention of texing and "L33t" speak disgusts me. I'm only 32 and don't consider myself that old, but when I was in school they taught proper spelling, grammar and punctuation. Learning and applying the conventions of the English language were not an option. I will admit to being guilty of an "LOL" here and there in text or instant message, but I consider email to be a formal method of written communication, especially when being used in a business transaction. I agree with those above me. I delete emails I get that look like that. I don't even waste my time with a response, as funny as it might be to mess with the person.

Re: when buying a snake why does your email need to contain ebonics? Seriously??
See typing like that on here, or in text, or a email to a friend is one thing. OR hell even if its a breeder your real good friends with and you guys are that close of friends its fine.
But this is a stranger emailing a stranger looking to do business. Or even if you know them a little bit, when conducting business you should act and talk proper.
You do not email a client and say "yo dawg when dat truck gonna be here for my shipment??"
Its just not right.
