Has anyone done P90X?
I just started this week. I am rather sore. I've not been able to complete a full session yet. I either reach failure or I can't physically do something.
I am 34, weigh 225 lbs at 5' 10". That makes me overweight but not quite obese. The weight I don't really care about. I care about my pants getting tighter and tighter. I want my waist back!
Anyways, I am hoping this regimen and some diet changes will help me to get where I want to be.
Wish me luck!

Good luck! I keep thinking about starting soon, but I need to work on my run time first. I can't run if I'm too exhausted from P90

Though expensive, it is a great workout if you have the room to jump around and will stick to it.
I told myself I will not join a gym or buy anything related to exercise until I am consistently doing push-ups, sit-ups, and either walking or running. (Haven't started yet).
Losing weight is actually easy in theory. Burn more calories than you take in. Or in other words, move more/eat less (or better).
P90X is a killer workout. You almost have to get in shape before you go through it.
Best wishes! As long as you are doing SOMETHING, you are better off than sitting on the sofa stuffing cookies and watching t.v. (like me...)

Re: Has anyone done P90X?
My buddy bought it, and it worked great. He lost a good amount of weight, which was mostly due to the new diet he went on that came with P90X, but also from the workout. He did a couple cycles, and then quit. He couldn’t stay motivated. I personally would not like jumping around in front of my TV, but that's just me. I can see why people like the idea, but I do not see how they are able to stick with it for long. It is too easy to slack while sitting around the house.
I go to the gym at least three to four times a week to get my workout in. I go with a friend, and we keep each other motivated. I also run outside or on an elliptical in the house occasionally.
If you do not have the energy to keep up with the workouts, you need to eat more carbs before the workout; such as, pasta, rice, or oatmeal.

Ive done it...
Your key to success with the work out is to start the diet that comes with it atleast 3 weeks to a month before you start the workouts.
The energy levels you need to finish the workouts is key its not easy, but stay with it and dont over heat yourself your body is a fine tuned car is the way I look at it.
And another thing I did to help was i wore light sweats and really didnt look in the mirror for the first month and wow it only makes you wanna finish it.
Im 5'8 start weight was 225 also im 210 after the first month and 200 at 60days solid...
Also get yourself the weight bands for those pull up you cant do at first it works and alot more less stress on your upper body...
Good Luck brother If you need any type of motivation let me know

I've heard good things about it. My friend does it and he's ripped for his height. Personally I like to go to the gym and work out, or run outside. One thing I did to lose my weight and tone up is go to classes at my local gym. Ours are free for members of the gym, they're an hour long. Personally, I find it easier to go to the gym and do the class than doing something at home. At least when I'm at the gym, I can ask the class leader if I'm doing everything right.

Good luck! I've done it last Sept-Nov (before my 35th bday) and lost 18 lbs. The first week is HELLLL! Your body will adjust and you'll have more energy. Diet will be important and the protein shake after workout will surely help in your recovery. There are days that you don't want to workout (it was plyometric day for me) but just do it, it doesn't have to be perfect, just move.

P90X is no joke! I have been at it for about 3 weeks now, and yes.. the 1st week sucks. I think I puked like 4 diff times (determined to complete the workouts). Don't be stubborn like me, take small breaks and use the damn pause button.
One thing that has helped me to stay motivated, since I literally feel like punching Tony Hornton in the face sometimes for being such a dousche, is once you get the hang of the workouts, lower the volume and put some music on that pumps you up. Music is a god-send during workouts in my opinion.
It works for me! I wasn't in real bad shape to start, but I haven't seen my abs look this good in years. Good luck, keep at it, and try the music!! (oh, and please don't ever catch yourself crossing your arms and doing the "X" thing. hahaha..
